Since each section of this castle is being shipped to (nearly) the other side of Canada it all needs to fit inside a semi-trailer. However, when it is finally assembled, this castle will be thirty six feet tall!
Sculpture Magic Workshop coming fast - with a little space for more attendees
With September now quickly rolling by we are scrambling to complete the first phase of NEB’s Mini Golf in order the clear the shop for this year’s Sculpture Magic Workshop which happens October 3-5th. At the workshop we do our very best to share all of the ‘secrets’ of the trade. Over a period of three long days we’ll demonstrate all of our techniques and answer every questions our attendees ask. Students at the workshop do a series of small scale projects to garner hands-on experience. They’ll design, weld, attach lath, and sculpt concrete and epoxy. They’ll apply paint and glazes with detailed instruction and as much help as necessary. While we can’t make anyone a master of the craft in only three days, we can give our attendees experience at every aspect of the craft. I’ll also give a series of lectures about how we design, do business, market our unique product and much more. When we announced the workshop last fall it sold out very quickly… but we’ve had a few last minute cancellations. These seats are being offered on a first come first serve basis. Almost done the first phase
Becke and her painting crew are making fantastic progress, adding the blend and glazing finishes to the features for the Jade City Golf at NEB’s Fun World . This coming week, as we finish we’ll be pulling most of the pieces from the shop. Then we can begin the fitting and welding of the giant armatures for the next features. Our parking lot/staging area is getting fuller all the time.
