Our favourite project

We are often asked which of our countless projects is our favourite. It is an easy answer that never changes. There have been so many great projects through the decades. Each has tested us, built our skills and each has been a whole lot of fun. Some have been massive, some far away, others much smaller but still memorable. We’ve helped many of our clients fulfill long held dreams. We’ve also realized some of our own lofty ambitions through our creative efforts. While these many projects and the ones currently in progress in our shop are so very special they aren’t our favourite. Our most favoured project is always the next one - the one we have yet to start. That allows us to cheerfully send our finished projects down the road and look forward to doing even better on the next.

What if?

At our studio we are continually playing the game ‘What if?’ as we dream up new ideas. For each project we first write a brief backstory and then base each piece around that tale. In this case the premise is that we are looking for an elusive creature. The time period is set in the Victorian age. To find this creature we needed a powerful telescope that had to be easily movable. The solution was a big eyeglass on wheels, complete with an old steel tractor seat. It works for me and will be a great photo opportunity for the guests!

Steampunk!

A new client asked us to dream up a steampunk styled lighthouse for a mini golf under consideration. It was an assignment we tackled with enthusiasm for we love this style! While we knew this lighthouse needed to function in a traditional way it needed to be futuristic in a victorian/industrial fashion. After exploring multiple ideas we settled on this welded steel, cable stayed structure on a stone foundation. It will be a fun build when the time comes to actually build it!
