Miniature Golf

Submarine in kit form

This week we took delivery of twenty thousand pounds of steel. It is to be used to build the armatures for the next phase of NEB’s mini golf. As soon as the steel was offloaded from the delivery truck I loaded the first of twenty-one sheets onto our MultiCam CNC plasma cutter and set it in motion. After two days of cutting the plate steel there is quite a pile of pieces. This photo shows one of four stacks. We’ve enjoyed two months of hot summer temperatures, but thankfully it cools down next week, just in time for us to begin welding the hundreds of pieces together. Stay tuned for that complicated process…

Shades of green

There’s a rapidly growing number of pieces ready for the final glazes in the shop. Lainey’s efforts of doing the base coats over the last two weeks allowed Becke to concentrate on the blends. Next week it will be about glazing which will finish off the pieces just in time to start fabrication of the next mini golf course features for NEB’s. Stay tuned to watch these pieces come together…
