Building envelope complete!

While Peter polished off the last of the sculpted concrete on the big back wall, Matt was finishing the last of the plasterwork on the Copper Crown tower. And with that work finished the exterior building envelope is now complete. The painting crew will do their work next week to make it all ready for inspection. With that large project complete we can move on to other aspects of the build. We’ll be concentrating on the North Star suite initially. The plumber will complete his rough in and in-floor heating pipes in the next couple of weeks which will ready the floor for the concrete work soon thereafter. Once the concrete is in place we can begin sculpting the final plaster work to ready the interior for paint. Although, at times, it seems like the progress is slow on the Hazelnut Inn, things are coming together at last.

Endless wall

Last week we finished the last of the sculpting on the Jade City mini golf. The painting crew has taken over the shop this week, adding colour to the features. Next week we will begin fabrication of the first armatures for the next project, NEBS undersea themed mini golf. We are using the down time to do the last of the plasterwork on the massive back wall of the Hazelnut Inn and are making great progress! It is well over a hundred feet long and about 27’ tall at the peak. The highest portions of the wall are now plastered and in a few days we will only have the painting left to finish. This work will wrap up the building exterior on the Hazelnut Inn which is a major milestone!
