Rockin!

Matt and Tony worked full blast today and managed to finish sculpting the entire lower area of rock on the last section of the NEB’s Fun World wall. It turned out great! They will tackle the timber work tomorrow, leaving a little plaster for Friday. That ensures our schedule will be met. Great job guys!

Brick-a-brac

Matt and his sculpting crew got ambitious today and went for broke on the bricks for this NEB’s Fun World wall section. Sculpting bricks is very labour-intensive - especially when they are this detailed and nice. And they did it without working overtime. Matt is all primed to get going on the last section of the wall tomorrow and is eager to be done before he and I head to Tokyo to visit Disneyland and DisneySea next week. Thanks guys!

No tree before its time

The sign for Aunt Kelsey’s Apple Tree Swing ride at Vala’s Pumpkin Patch and Apple Orchard in Nebraska now sports its diamond lath in preparation for the sculpted concrete skin. (thanks, Matt!) The giant apples have their first coat of sculpting epoxy. We must still weld up and wire the swing seat later this week. Before we can do the sculpting, we have to fabricate a shipping pallet to make the piece more stable and mobile. That will have to wait until the pieces bound for NEB’s Fun World begin moving out when the painting crew finishes. There will be no tree before its time…
