Peter and Becke left work a little early today, but they weren’t lollygagging. They were off to the Vancouver Fan Expo to set up the new display for the Hazelnut Inn. Peter and Becke will be there Friday, Saturday and Sunday of this week in booth 936 in the Vancouver Convention Centre.
Almost ready for tile
The painting crew finishes more areas daily in the Under Hill Suite of the Hazelnut Inn. As they apply the final glazes, some of the crew are working hard to cut the hundreds of border tiles that will be laid around the outside edge of the great room. Becke and Peter have been gathering the special pieces of furniture and decor to make this room every bit as charming as the North Star Suite next door. There are about seventy workdays until the open house (June 7th, right after the Yarrow Days Parade), and we have no time to lose…
Size 248 shoe
Our first task of the week was to pull the finished NEB’s wall sections out of the shop. Then, we pulled the new projects inside. One of these is the size 248 shoe for the old lady and all her kids living there. This shoe is giant and measures just under ten feet tall and about twelve feet long. It will be headed to Vala’s Pumpkin Patch in Nebraska. Tomorrow, we’ll finish the diamond lath to prepare it for the concrete sculpting later this week.
