Sculpted stove

Peter slathered the magic mud onto the little stove armature, and then when it had set the perfect amount, he removed the excess, leaving behind an ideal little stove for the Under Hill Suite. The big decision now is what colour we are going to paint it. Becke, our colour expert, will weigh in to make the perfect decision. Stay tuned…

Shoe

The old lady’s giant shoe for Vala’s Pumpkin Patch took a huge leap forward today as the crew worked together to sculpt the upper leathers and stitching. By quitting time, it was looking fabulous! Tomorrow, they will do it again to finish off the sole and get it ready for the painting to begin after the concrete cures for a few days.

Trimming tile

As the painting and glazing wrap up in the Under Hill Suite of the Hazelnut Inn, preparations for the beginning of the tile work are going full blast. Jay and the rest of the crew are taking turns cutting the double row of edge tiles that will circle the entire room. It is no small task, as many hundreds of pieces will be carefully arranged and glued into place. Each border tile measures two by three inches, and the double-tile border will stretch about eighty feet. Stay tuned for the beginning of the laying of the tile…
